During my morning walks, I am getting to know my friend, the camera and through it, myself more deeply. Filled with wonder, I walk through nature, truly bathing in her beauty. My eye is drawn to the most beautiful things, the things that seem to want to be seen.

As I take the time to capture an image, I notice that I am beginning to understand my camera more and more. I am learning that my camera is my other eye. I no longer try to photograph what my physical eye sees; instead, I look and listen to what my camera sees. Through this, I have learned that in order to feel and understand the greater whole, I do not need to see everything. A small part of the whole can already tell the story of everything.

My photographs are intimate. They are glimpses of a moment in which the essence becomes visible. I capture the light that shines from within often precisely by photographing from the darkness and playing with shadow. Like all of my other work, my photographs carry a message. They are symbolic. Symbols and their meanings speak to our subconscious. They make the string of a deep truth vibrate within our being.
